Perdevara, 2-wheel activism and why i support him

I decided to write my second post in English. I think Victor's followers are mostly billingual but also, makes it easier for me TODAY. I'm back in Romania for the short half-term break and tomorrow will send my laptop to the service so that doesn't give me a lot of time for rich posts.

I was very excited to see the first donations on the PayPal and realized that people living abroad (not in Romania I mean) have the possibility to donate a much bigger sum, so will probably wait one or two weeks more before my own donation. It won't come alone, so boyfriend and a couple of friends joining. I really hope this will happen soon!

Also, I have spoken to Victor and thought about contacting some nice small companies (bikes, tourism etc.) and see if they can help! I was actually first thinking about Bicicletele Pegas (click here on the name), and will send them a post today, so if anybody has any suggestions, we'll be more than thankful! :D

I was also thinking about why I love what he's doing and honestly support him so I will share this with you. Oh and there are soooo many reasons!!! It's got to do with love, the world, knowledge, people, health, activism, solidarity, exploring and generally, with what life should be for all of us.

Firstly, I think he's brave, and in his search for freedom, he's actually as dependent on the others as we all are. The beauty of it is that he's dependent on strangers, on people he meets on the road, on people who give him lunch today or host him for a whole week. And thinking this way, aren't we all just as strange as we are friends or colleagues?

Secondly, he chose to ride the bike. No hitch-hiking (or as little as possible), no driving, no  trains. Well, that's SPORT, that's energy, that's his OWN energy that moves him, from one place to the other, sharing and then gaining and then sharing again some of that. That's a strong body, that's so many difficulties to go through, that's incredibly cold and terribly hot, that's tiring, that's risky, that's lonely, that's independent! That's his own rhythm, that's his own way. Oh yes and I LOOOOVE THAT!

I KNOW HIM! And of course I support him because I know him. Never met him though, that's funny. We talked a lot about Poland, a few years back, about plans, about volunteering, about EVS, about hitch-hiking, about the connections you make on the road and about stuff. Everything online. I was in Bucharest, he was in Cluj.  I live in London now, he's on the road. We're both tripping in different way, but we haven't stopped travelling. And yes, we're not tourists, we're travelers. Ohhh YES!

Also, he's carrying that huge fucking flag that has written ROMANIA SAYS NO TO FRACKING on. And I don't even care what your opinion is, but he's spreading a MESSAGE he believes in and he's confronting people from the first second and he's fighting his fight and he doesn't give up. So that's WHY I support him.

Well, I also support him because he writes. And he's such an honest writer, a bit of a poet, a bit of a child. Raw and charming. It takes you there. It took ME there. I want him to write, to KEEP writing. I want him to be in touch, not all the time, but I love the online, I love the sharing, I love travelling and I want to know about all that. Or at least a bit of that. It makes me plan and it makes me keep on going. Further and FURTHER. To the next country, to the next CONTINENT and damn, to the next UNIVERSE, because all these people and all these places...They're not on this planet. Do you ever get this feeling? Sometimes you don't need a visa to get there. You need a VISA! You need a VISION VISA!! You need a SUPER HOT BOILING NEED FOR FREEDOM AND LOVE FOR ALL BEINGS AND PLACES AND A VISION FOR LIFE NOT BEING WHAT THEY SAY IN HIGHSCHOOL BUT WHAT THEY SAY IN NEIL GAIMAN'S BOOKS AND YOU WANT TO FIND ALL THAT AND LIVE IT LIVE IT AS YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT WITH WHOM YOU WANT!!! And damn, I TOTALLY SUPPORT THAT!

Should I stop here?

For today, on this blog, yes. But you should START donate :D Donate button on the right of this blog page. The only DONATE button on this site.

Support Victor and blogging on two wheels!

If there is anything that I would like to do my whole life, is travel. If someone told me today that I am no longer allowed to move from the city I live in, I would probably think that my days are soon to be over.

People give to charity, volunteer, help friends, sponsor Kickstarter project and so on...

I have been following Victor (click here and you'll see the Facebook page of his adventure), my friend, since the first months of his adventure. His Facebook posts, blogs (click to see his website) and all that so last time when I talked to him he told me he's got no phone, no laptop and he just goes online at the internet cafes he finds on his way. And in his lovely hosts' homes. Suddenly, thinking of how much I enjoy his writing, which is raw, honest and takes you right there on the road with him, I realized I wanted him to write more, anytime he feels like it, anywhere he feels he'd like to share a wonderful thing with us, so what could be easier to carry, to write and read on and also to be there, just in case he needs to contact someone, but a tablet!

I live in London and buying a tablet here is very cheap, you can get a regular, but good quality one with 120 British Pounds!!! We will get a quarter of it only by having my close friends here donate a few pounds. I am raising all donations on my PayPal account, which I have set up for donations. When the sum gets all raised, I will show you everything: print screens, photos, receipts and all that proof to assure you your donations went where you meant them to go. Also, will keep you updated during the process!

So...fellow travelers, dear friends, dear EVS volunteers, Erasmus students, cyclists and activists, I invite you to join and support Victor in his writing about cycling around the whole world! This is something definitely worth doing but, for the beginning, something AMAZING TO READ ABOUT! So let's give Victor his pen and paper of our century and follow him wherever he goes on his two-wheeled, faithful friend!

For your donations, here you go:

Donam pentru tableta lui PERDEVARA!

Seara buna!

Pentru cine nu stie care e treaba, poftiti aici: perdevara.info este site-ul lui, si il mai gasiti si pe Facebook, cu Tail Wind Around The World.

Aici link:

Haideti sa-i luam lui Victor o tableta!
